DRINK - Hipster Bars

*Mulhollands - Enjoying your hipster community can be hard if you also happen to enjoy sports - at least, beyond liking hats with sports logos from 1985. Good bar food, good bar beer, flatscreens in and outdoors, sports on those screens, and a fireplace just to throw everything off, Mulholland's is the place to go for a real sports bar experience in an otherwise sports-hostile environment.

*Kettle of Fish - A greenwich village community staple with its roots in the Beat scene of the 50s and the gay community - opening on Macdougal St. but since relocated a number of times finding itself on Christopher St. - this is one of the few bars that will boast its counter cultural history as much as its diehard Packer fandom. It may be a New York bar, but when it comes to football it's Wisconsin all the way to it's Milwakee-imported Brat Wurst. A comfy, friendly zone that is also known for its juke box and good beer on tap (Six Point, Coney Island, and more).

*4th Ave Pub - A hipster hang out for people who hate hipster hang outs, this neighborhood favorite isn't known for sports, and it won't compete with multitudes of wide flatscreen TVs, but you can watch the game while enjoying a massive beer menu and popcorn machine, the warm glow of which challenges you to even try and stop shoveling handfuls of popcorn into your mouth. It's a good gimmick because it makes you want more beer, and there's plenty of that. If you get bored with the game, there's a great back garden. Decent prices, even better with $2 off drinks happy hour until 8pm.

*Standings Bar - An old fashioned sports bar that also keeps a keen eye on dedication to a connoisseur's eye for variety of American craft and microbrews, and 72 oz "mega-pitchers" to put them in. Which isn't to overlook their free pizza Fridays and free bagel Sundays. Small and full of all the spirit and heart of Rudy Ruettiger, but with 8 LCD TVs, Standings is a great East Village sports spot.
